Cloughjordan Circus Club was founded in 2010 by Artistic Director Joanna Williams to offer an alternative social and creative outlet to children and young people aged 8 – 25 years, promoting social connections, creative expression and physical wellbeing through inclusive, participatory circus arts.

Since then, the project has evolved, extending our reach well beyond Cloughjordan to engage children and young people from many surrounding Midlands towns and villages. The project provides an exciting programme of weekly circus activities, creates regular performances for parades, festivals and theatres, involves young people in trips and exchanges, and runs peer education & leadership programmes for older members. More recently we have stepped up our outreach work, offering workshops in schools and youth groups throughout the region.

Cloughjordan Circus Club is run by Joanna who is responsible for day to day operations and is lead artist on all projects. In addition we employ freelance artists to co-deliver on the core programme and to provide one-off and weekend intensive masterclasses.

Fracture Youth Theatre

Founded in 2006, Fracture Youth Theatre is a vibrant, high-intensity theatre programme where young people explore performance, movement, and storytelling in a dynamic and collaborative way.

Based at The Source Arts Centre in Thurles, Fracture gives members the chance to create original work, experiment with new ideas, and perform for live audiences. Sessions are fast-paced, energetic, and performance-focused - perfect for those who enjoy diving into the creative process and building confidence on stage.

Snapped Youth Theatre (SYT)

Founded in 2023, Snapped Youth Theatre (SYT) grew out of a partnership between The Source Arts Centre, Youth Theatre Ireland, and Meitheal 21. It began as an in-house programme for Down Syndrome Tipperary, offering workshops that celebrated creativity, play, and self-expression.

Today, Snapped has evolved into an inclusive youth theatre, primarily geared towards teenagers with a mild general learning difficulty but open to all young people. It’s ideal for participants who prefer a more relaxed, process-based workshop experience with less emphasis on public performance.

Workshops are imaginative, supportive and collaborative, a space where every member can explore theatre at their own pace, build confidence, and express themselves creatively through acting, movement, and storytelling.

How They Connect:

Fracture and Snapped are sister youth theatres at The Source Arts Centre, both led by Emily Matthews and Danielle Martin.

Fracture offers a high-energy, performance-focused experience for young people who want to create and perform on stage.

Snapped offers a playful, inclusive, and flexible space that prioritises creativity, collaboration, and self-expression.

Both groups are open to all secondary-school-aged young people, regardless of background, ability, or experience. Together, they form a welcoming community where every young person can find their place, build confidence, and share their stories through theatre.

Nenagh Youth Theatre offers fun and excitement to young people aged between 13 and 17 through its excellent programme that allows them to make new friends, develop communication skills and build confidence through theatre games and improvisation. FYT presents two plays a year during which participants work together to accomplish their goals in a supportive and rewarding environment.

Stagecraft Youth Theatre is Tipperary's longest standing youth theatre. Founded in 1998, Stagecraft has brought the highest level of actor training to the South East. For over two decades, SYT has produced ambitious and original productions that aim to give young people a voice and create work which is authentic to their generation. Stagecraft continues to push boundaries and innovatively transform their art by devising original productions, creating pop up theatres, and using new media to expand the group and influence their process.
