Since its foundation in 2000 initiated through the Arts Office of Carlow County Council, Carlow Youth Theatre (CYT) has empowered hundreds of young people through its commitment to youth centred drama practice. The long-term investment by the Arts Office and Youth Theatre Leaders has ensured that young people can discover the joy of theatre making in their early life no matter what their background or abilities. The reward is exciting and captivating theatre for, by, and with young people. Carlow Youth Theatre is open to young people from the ages of 11-19 and is hosted in VISUAL Carlow where the group meets weekly. CYT is led by experienced facilitators Eimear Cheasty and Anna Galligan.
