Artist biography
Kevin O’ Connor is an experienced theatre practitioner with particular skills as a Drama Facilitation, Theatre director, Educational Drama consultant and facilitator. Kevin currently lectures in Drama in Limerick University and works as a community drama facilitator on both sides of the Irish border.
Kevin is Artistic Director for the Gonzo Youth Theatre and is also its head facilitator and has been responsible for all of their productions to date.
He also works in a number of schools teaching Process Drama and improvisation.
Kevin has a life-long passion for drama and believes in its power to change and transform. As a theatre director Kevin is an exponent of Boal, Stanislavski and Linklater. His work is characterised by the creation on stage of a highly distinctive environment, the intensity of the emotions portrayed and by the realism of the acting on view.
