Artist biography
I have worked as a drama facilitator in a wide range of schools, with diverse cohorts spanning all primary school to secondary level ages and across socioeconomic backgrounds for over 25 years.
I am a trained actor who has both performed and produced theatrical works. I am committed to using drama and its techniques to increase the confidence and knowledge of children of all abilities, having experienced that transformation in my own life and been witness to the opportunities that drama can provide. I am a passionate believer in the power of drama to transform individuals and build communities. I have worked with community groups in many areas across Dublin, and have seen the healing and good that artistic expression can bring to all types of people, both young and not so young.
I have used process drama (situational role playing and problem solving) and performance drama. My work uses active learning and helps develop decision making skills, empathy and self-confidence. I have used a wide range of creative approaches and enjoy collaborating to bring drama into the classroom and leave it there as a project legacy. I also have a keen interest in the Irish language for many years.
