Artist biography
April (she/her) is a neurodivergent facilitator and theatre artist. A recent graduate of IADT's Equity, Diversity & Inclusion postgraduate diploma (2023), April facilitates exciting, engaging experiences for young people that are both accessible and inclusive. Her recent work includes 'Here We Are Now', a theatre co-creation project with LGBTQ+/youth groups in the Cavan & Monaghan area (2023) and 'Page Turners', a theatre co-creation project with children attending the nurture room in her local primary school (2023). She is a trained Theatre-Artist-Partnership artist and has facilitated various drama-based projects with local primary schools (2022/23). She is a member of the design team and facilitator for Play In A Day, an OIDE pilot initiative delivering workshops in secondary schools on the devising process (2024).
April is also a practising theatre artist and currently exploring making work for young audiences. She is a recipient of the Baboró Breaking Ground bursary, an artistic development opportunity for creating performances for young people with additional needs (2023/2024). April also recently received the Dublin Local Authorities’ Exploring And Thinking Award, which supports professional artists in developing their practice in creating work for early childhood arts (2024).
