Artist biography
Alan loves creativity and enjoys the challenge of creating new work. He is an experienced theatre director and facilitator working with young people.
His 30 year career has spanned acting, producing, directing, group facilitation and project managing a variety of youth led and professional projects.
With a practice that encompasses working with text, devising, and directing, alongside critical engagement and creative thinking, Alan is comfortable working with young people of all levels and experiences.
As a professional actor, he has worked extensively in theatre, film, television and radio. He co-founded, and regularly teaches on Introduction to Screen Acting & Casting Courses for Louise Kiely Casting, Ireland’s leading casting director for television and film.
Other Specialities include: Digital Learning. Youth Arts, Strategy & Development. Design Thinking. Digital Marketing.
He is currently Deputy Director of Youth Theatre Ireland.
He is available and interested in short term engagements, one off workshops and specialist projects. He is not available to run a youth theatre on a long term basis.
