Synopsis
A rip-roaring pastiche of all things Shakespearian, the play opens in an imagined time in the late 15th century in Lisbon, Portugal. Queen Isabella has unleashed the fanatical forces of the Inquisition and heroic Irish sea captain Donal O'Malley whisks master mapmaker Ben Reuben and his grand daughter, Miriam, to safety on board his boat bound for the Balearic isles.
Many years later we meet Donal, where his business is the secret trading of maps, a vital tool for trading routes and gaining control. Soon we are introduced to a vast array of spies, masters and mayhem as they all vie for control of the high seas.
Featuring cross dressing spies, sword fights, intrigue and abduction, a battle at sea and the reuniting of old friend it’s a mad whirlwind to the finish.
