                              Synopsis
This is the story of a typical end of sixth year debs dance. The difference is that it’s presented in the form of a cabaret with a Master of Ceremonies/Ring Master who casts a jaundiced eye on he proceedings and introduces the various stages of the ancient ritual of ‘The Debs,’ from ‘The Asking’ to ‘The Buying of the Dress’ to ‘The Bitching’ and ‘The Switching of Dates.’ Each scene also includes numbers from various musicals, (i.e., The Bad Girls are introduced with ‘Cell Block Tango’ from Chicago, and the heroine sings ‘On My Own’ from Les Miserables). The choice of songs is very much up to the group and director concerned, but the play allows you to dip in and out of any musical you prefer.
