Louise Holian, our much-valued Child Protection & Welfare Officer is departing the Youth Theatre Ireland team for pastures new, towards the end of this month. We wish her all the very best in the next exciting step in her career.
“I’ve had a fantastic 5 years with Youth Theatre Ireland and have grown hugely, both professionally and personally, in that time. Thanks to everyone I’ve worked with including Youth Theatre Ireland staff past and present, facilitators, the welfare panel, youth theatre leaders and young people. Coming up through youth theatre myself it’s been an important role for me, one very close to my heart and what a strong foundation it’s been in terms of stepping forward into another national youth organisation. So therefore, I’m really excited and looking forward to be taking up my new role as Head of Participation with (Community Creations) -Spun Out where I’ll be working with action panels of young people all around the country ensuring that their voices are heard; that they feel empowered to be recognised and that they continue to be central to the work of Spun Out going forward.”
In light of Louise’s departure and due to a very busy period in programming with our upcoming national festival, Youth Theatre Ireland will be suspending the vetting consortium from the 26th June to the 29th of July. This means that no new vetting applications will be processed between these dates so we would ask all youth theatres that require vetting to email applications ASAP and by the 25th of June at the very latest. We realise that this is short notice and apologise for any inconvenience caused. Louise will monitor those applications already in progress after the 26th and will get back to the youth theatre dlps with vetting results. Email applications to Louise@youththeatre.ie
or vetting@youththeatre.ie
