Youth Theatre Ireland returns to the Dublin Theatre Festival for our second (and hopefully last) year of running a fully online programme.
Since April, twenty Young Critics from all across Ireland have had an opportunity to connect with and fully immerse themselves in the worlds of criticism and digital theatre through the online space.
They have been guided on their journey of critical discovery by our expert facilitators: Alan King in Dublin and theatre critic and academic Dr. Karen Fricker in Toronto.
Over the course of the festival, the Young Critics will watch a selection of productions and will present their critical responses at this special online panel.
Shows under discussion are:
Once Before I Go by Phillip McMahon (Gate Theatre)
Root devised and co-created by Shanna May Breen & Luke Casserly
What Did I Miss? by Shaun Dunne
The First Child by Donnacha Dennehy & Enda Walsh
The Young Critics annual discussion is always lively and informative as members share their views and opinions with good humour, passion, and eloquence.
Register here for full access to live panel on Oct 10th.
For ages 12+—This Youth Theatre Ireland programme is funded by the Arts Council and the Department for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth
