Youth Theatre Ireland is delighted to announce that applications are invited for the Paddy O’Dwyer Memorial Bursary, to support an emerging leader from an affiliated or developing youth theatre to participate in our Drama Facilitation Training Course 2026/2027.
Established to honour Paddy O’Dwyer, one of Youth Theatre Ireland’s founding members, the bursary forms part of a five-year award dedicated to recognising Paddy’s extraordinary contribution to youth theatre in Ireland and ensuring his legacy continues through the next generation of leaders and facilitators.
Eoghan Doyle, Director of Youth Theatre Ireland said “Paddy O’Dwyer helped shape youth theatre in Ireland from its very foundations. He believed deeply in young people as creative artists and as active, socially engaged citizens—and his vision continues to influence everything we do. We’re proud to honour Paddy’s legacy through this bursary, and delighted that it will support a youth theatre leader to develop their skills, confidence and creative leadership through our accredited Drama Facilitation Training Course.”
