Fishamble turns 35 this year, and they are delighted to announce a partnership with Youth Theatre Ireland to mark the occasion, running in parallel to their usual programme of productions, touring, artist support projects, and educational initiatives.
Fishamble are working in partnership with Youth Theatre Ireland to share a selection of plays which Fishamble has premiered over the past 35 years. In August, Fishamble will send a packaged selection of two dozen of its published plays to all 57 Youth Theatre groups throughout the country – over 1,300 plays will be shared with young people, including the future theatre-makers of Ireland. The plays will include works that have been presented nationwide, been performed site-specifically, and toured to 20 countries, including transfers Off-Broadway and to the West End.
To celebrate this occasion the Fishamble office was filled with YTI members, Alan King the Deputy Director of Youth Theatre Ireland, YTI Members Eoghan,(Droichead YT )Millie (Dublin YT) and Faith (Kildare YT) and playwrights Sebastian Barry, Deirdre Kinahan, Margaret McAuliffe, Colin Murphy, Mark O'Rowe and Gavin Kostick.
