With thanks to the Climate Justice fund supported by DCEDIY, Youth Theatre Ireland are delighted to offer three €800 Production Grants to stage ‘Fail, an Epic, Or An Epic Fail’ by Jody O’Neill in 2022.
Taking inspiration from the words of one of the world leading activists for Climate Action, Greta Thunberg, the play follows a group of young people attempting to stage a carbon neutral production. Everything, including the set and lights are entirely carbon neutral, but are they really? Can they solve the issues of divestment, carbon emissions, and plastic consumption?
Climate Justice is a key global issue that will disproportionately affect young people and this play allows young people to engage with a topic that will be vitally important to their future and the future of our planet.
In addition to receiving the production grant, Youth Theatre Ireland will provide additional resources to youth theatres to support their engagement with Climate Justice.
If you are interested in applying for this production grant to enable you to stage ‘Fail, An Epic Or An Epic Fail’ , you can read the play in advance of making the application. Please email joanne@youththeatre.ie who will share a copy of the playscript with you.
To apply please fill in the application form below.
The closing date for receipt of applications is Friday 10th December 2021.
