Announcing our new National Programme Co-Ordinator

                                06 April 2022
                                Rebecca Feely Sunflowers 1

We are delighted to welcome Rebecca Feely to the Youth Theatre Ireland team in the role of National Programme Co-Ordinator. Rebecca is an arts administrator and director from County Cork, most recently working with Graffiti Theatre Company as a youth theatre facilitator delivering creative writing, wellbeing, and Shakespearean workshops.

Speaking about the appointment, Youth Theatre Ireland Director Eoghan Doyle said ‘We are delighted to have Rebecca joining the Youth Theatre Ireland team as the new National Programme Co-Ordinator. Her clear passion for youth theatre and broad experience will be a great addition to the Youth Theatre Ireland team and I am really looking forward to her contribution to the youth theatre sector over the coming months and years.’

Rebecca is looking forward to a great programme of events in 2022. “I am delighted to be joining the team at Youth Theatre Ireland! My own time in youth theatre was a wonderful experience and I hope that through my new role I will be able to pay that forward to youth theatre members across the country.”

Previously, Rebecca spent three years in the USA working at The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey and began there as a directing intern before graduating to a full-time position as Education and Casting Associate. She co-ordinated the theatres internship and acting apprenticeship programme, delivered in-school drama programmes, and trained as an audio describer for the visually impaired. She was also part of the team responsible for casting the mainstage productions and assistant directed various rehearsed readings throughout multiple seasons. Rebecca completed her honours bachelor’s degree in Drama and Theatre Studies at Trinity College Dublin in 2015 and her master’s degree in Shakespeare and Creativity from The Shakespeare Institute at the University of Birmingham in 2021. Rebecca is a former member of Activate Youth Theatre.

Rebecca will join the Youth Theatre Ireland team on Monday 11th of April and you can contact her by email via rebecca@youththeatre.ie or by phone at (01) 878-1301. For more on the work of Youth Theatre Ireland visit YouthTheatre.ie
