Artist biography
Rosey Hayes is a theatremaker who enjoys working with young people of all levels and experiences.
After obtaining her BA Hons degree in Performing Arts from Sligo Institute of Technology in 2016, Rosey spent several years in Dublin working as an actor. In the Summer of 2017, she travelled to the North of Italy working as a drama facilitator with Smile Theatre Company.
From February 2022 until January 2024, she worked as director of Barnstorm Youth Theatre where she ran workshops, staged productions, and facilitated an annual summer camp. She completed Youth Theatre Ireland's Drama Facilitation Training course in May 2023 and worked as an assistant facilitator at the National Festival of Youth Theatres later that year.
She has facilitated workshops for various groups including Down Syndrome Ireland and Happe House Creche in Kilkenny. She also has casting experience, having worked as a casting director on projects including the National Youth Film and Animation School 2019 and 2023.
One of her specialties is assisting actors with audition preparation and self-taping techniques, having gained firsthand experience as an actor and casting director. She is skilled in text-based work that encourages critical engagement and creative thinking.
