I am a past member of Dublin Youth Theatre, the National Youth Theatre Ensemble (Ask Too Much Of Me by Dylan Coburn Gray) and Dublin Theatre Festival's 'Be SpectACTive' European spectators group. What do you hope to achieve during the training?

I hope to improve my communication and leadership skills as a facilitator of drama and film director, to have command over a room and that it will improve my confidence in public speaking practise (which will lend itself to so many aspects of anyone’s career in the arts).

What excites you most about taking part in the training?

Working under Dave and Barry's leadership is appealing to me, not least because I have a huge amount of respect for their work already, so to be able to understand their facilitation process, and work it into my own style, makes me really excited!

What are your hopes for the future and how do you hope to apply this training in your ongoing career path?

As a working film and theatre director, and someone aspiring to improve their facilitation and directing technique over a mix of various art forms, I feel that we can learn a lot from theatre in terms of directing and the idea of 'play' and 'workshopping'. I think I could implement a lot of what is learned into my own practise, because I have first-hand experience of how beneficial care and facilitation of this nature can be, and how it positively affects the work of any project.
