Young Critics International Exchange

Young Critics International Exchange

On 10 April, 24 lucky participants will be arriving in Dublin to engage in what promises to be a week to remember. Over 5 days, young critics from Ireland and Scotland will explore the core skills of theatre criticism - describing, analysing and critiquing theatre.

The exchange programme will support each young person's individual response, nurturing their personal 'voice' and understanding of theatre. Over the course of the exchange the participating young critics will be guided by professional theatre critics, Gareth Vile and Karen Fricker and experienced youth theatre practitioners, Alan King and Amy Watt.  The 14 Irish and 10 Scottish young people will also attend three professional theatre productions.

The exhange is only one element of Creative Commons;  a 2-year project funded by Erasmus +.  It provides Youth Theatre Ireland and Youth Theatre Arts Scotland (YTAS) with a unique opportunity to share best practice within the youth theatre sector and to strategically build new and innovative resources in the areas of Young Critics practice and Young Leader mentorship and skill development.
