Save the Date! The Creative Spark: Cross-Border Training Weekend, 28 and 29 September
Building on the success of last year’s Laying the Foundations Training, Youth Theatre Ireland and Theatre NI are delighted to host this cross-border training weekend for a second year.
The Creative Spark - Saturday and Sunday, 28 and 29 September
The Creative Spark training will provide youth theatre leaders and practitioners from north and south of the border with an opportunity to explore devising content, helping them use old approaches in new ways to make original theatre content with their youth theatres. Over the two days the participants will engage and participate in a variety of devising theatre workshops. All of the workshops will focus on a particular stimulus as a starting point for creating new work. These workshops will include visual, physical, and abstract stimuli.
The weekend will also include formal and informal opportunities to network with other practitioners north and south of the border to explore opportunities for developing partnerships for the benefit of youth theatre members.
Over two days participants will:
- Source new material and approaches to devising theatre content.
- Share best practice approaches from youth theatres north and south of the border
- Explore opportunities for creating future collaborations and partnerships
- Discuss plans for a cross border residential festival for Youth Theatre in 2020
Please note: Places are limited. 8 residential places will be offered to youth theatre leaders/practitioners from Youth Theatre Ireland's membership and 8 residential places from Theatre NI's membership. There are 8 non-residential places also vailable for the programme. Participants must be aged over 18.
