ARTiculate- A national playwriting project. Applications Now Open

Youth Theatre Ireland is delighted to announce a pilot national playwriting project, ARTiculate, in association with its National Youth Theatre programme.

ARTiculate will provide a space for young playwrights between the ages of 18 and 25 to come together once a month throughout 2020 and develop their craft under the mentorship of National Youth Theatre Artistic Director, Veronica Coburn, award-winning playwright, Dylan Coburn Gray and Youth Theatre Ireland’s Special Projects Officer, Barry Morgan.

What Happens at ARTiculate?

The ethos of ARTiculate is apprenticeship and mentorship.  Our young playwrights will learn by doing under the guidance of their mentors.  Participating playwrights will be expected to write in their own time and come to each workshop prepared to read, discuss and explore their work.

Participation in ARTiculate is by application.  See below for application guidelines:

• To participate you need to be a member of a youth theatre affiliated to Youth Theatre Ireland or to have been so within the last 12 months.

• To participate you need to be aged 18 or over.

• You need to be available to attend all sessions.  There are nine scheduled sessions spread across 2020.
